Transition Town Kenmore

Transition Town Kenmore covers the Pullenvale Ward, stretching along the Brisbane river from Kenmore to Karana Downs and into the hills to Upper Brookfield.

The group celebrated its third birthday in July 11. Over the past 4 years we have helped to start a farmers market, run solar hot water and PV buying groups, permabltized gardens, organized electoral forums and run skills workshops along with our monthly educational meetings.

Our regular meetings are on the third Thursday of the month at the Kenmore Library – Kenmore village shopping centre at 7.30 pm.

All are welcome, see you there.

I never remember my green bags at the shops – they’re usually in the back of the car. I had an epiphany after the last meeting. Now I just ask the checkout person to pass all the items through and I just throw them back in the trolley. Then I pack them into green bags in the boot of the car. It makes it much quicker to get through the checkout and the kitchen doens’t fill with plastic bags.
